International Whites Mix
An international six mix for white lovers. Wines from Australia, France and Italy.
Bollini Pinot Grigio 2022
This is a terrific grigio from the north east of Italy, perfect for any drinking occassion. “Straw yellow in colour, clear-cut and delicate on the nose, with scents of acacia flowers, minerals and pear. The fresh natural acidity supports the wine.” Winemaker’s notes.
Domaine Reine Juliette Picpoul de Pinet 2020
From the south of France, this wine offers fresh, crisp drinking. “Brilliant pale yellow colour with green highlights. A nose of fine elegant floral and fruity reminiscent of hawthorn and peach. Well-balanced palate, acidity and roundness give this wine a good framework, with a final note of citrus fruits (grapefruit).” Winemaker’s notes.
Domaine Pichot Vouvray Sec Coteau de la Biche 2022
100% chenin blanc from the Loire. Aromas of pear candied fruit and spice with hints of honey and that distinctive chalkiness that is so typical of great Vouvray. Fine, brilliantly focused flavours with exceptional texture and length this shows the tension typical of great dry Vouvray. Perfect mid-week French tipple.
Medhurst Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2023
"Hand picked and whole-bunch pressed to puncheons, hogsheads and barriques (20% new). Simon Steele has proven, on more than one occasion, that he's a dab hand at making chardonnay. This strikes the right balance between aromas of white peach, orange blossom and ginger and those flintier elements. Really lovely intensity on the palate, finishing saline and long. And as good as it is now, it'll be even better six to 12 months from now."
96 points, Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion.
Rieslingfreak No.4 Eden Valley Riesling 2022
“Don’t be fooled by John Hughes’ quirky business name. Eden Valley's dominant juicy lime fruit comes through at speed, backs off towards the back palate before surging on the finish and aftertaste, with white peach and grapefruit providing a high wire of acidity and length.”
96 points, James Halliday’s Top 100 wines for 2022.
Thomas Wines Synergy Semillon 2023
How good is Hunter Valley Semillon. "The 2023 Synergy Semillon is tight and pithy on the nose, leading with scratched lemon and bath salt, a hint of leafy thyme/sage (actually, it's really quite like the smell of fresh sage in the garden right after it's been watered) and nashi pear skin in the mouth. The phenolics have a pleasing, bitter almond/green almond quality through to the finish. It's a lovely wine, coiled, pristine, austere..." 94 points, Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate.
